Thought yall might find this interesting. A while back my friends motor quit working on his 2001. we changed it and all is well. i kept the old one b/c i wanted to tear it apart and diagnose, i finally got to it tonite. it seems to only move a little past 90* to engage the t-case. i found that the motor still worked when hooked to a 12v supply. it seems that there is a sensor around the piece that actuall moves the t-case to tell the truck to stop moving the motor to stay in a gear selection? not sure im guessing. well that must be the part that fails, too bad you cant. just replace that part(second pic) View attachment 12891View attachment 12892
