Coolant will still be flowing just no exhaust flow. Unless you do like Weweld did coolant will always flow thru the cooler.

then what did weweld do?

UPDATE:
i just called elite diesel and talked to Tadd. he told me that with the up-pipe with EGR delete, that coolant would still flow thru the EGR cooler, but it runs thru an internal pipe, which has the "fins" around it.

at stock, the fins are heated by the exhaust, which in turn heats the coolant.

so now, with the up-pipe with EGR delete, only atmospheric air will be circulating around the EGR cooler.

he also said, that with the EGR valve unpluged, it will not hurt anything. he said that on most '04's like mine, that it may not even set off the CEL. it might cause a code to throw, but that wouldn't do anything.

sorry but still seems like a poorly engineered solution...i dont want no
CEL or MIL light on and i SURE dont want any codes...

stephen the egr is NOT an isolated device...its operation and at least
TWO other devices (vgt & ebp) work together....a failing egr valve
will cause the VGT to opperate "differently"....ask me how i know....

if the EGR valve is commanded to change its position and the other
devices (vgt & ebp) dont see a change in pressures theyll react
improperly...

i'll be sure to let you know how it works bush.

thanks for your concerns.

the people that i bought the item from, have had the same problems as i have.

he has done the exact thing that i am doing, he has had no problems with the mods done.

i do believe it will work.

After you delete the EGR you use the SCT to turn off the EGR and you get no codes or problems.

it doesn't. i have asked those questions to both the diesel tech, my service manager, and tadd at elite diesel. all of them agreed that there would be no problems. you need to call tadd at elite diesel, and he will answer all your questions bush. he has performed all of these mods on his 6.0. i believe he knows what he is doing, as do several others on here that i have talked to about it.

so get over it already.

and no, i dont have to buy an SCT.
