I am looking to get a little more outta my 05 6.0. I am wanting to put on an aftermarket exhaust and a new air system to let it breathe better. I need some direction please. Is 4 " the way to go :dunno . Does the cat stay or go ?? I am looking for something to get a nice cackle but not too loud in the cab at highway speed. Also probably is a dumb question but where do you go to get these mods done. I've called the local shops in my area ( I live 1.5 hrs from Chicago ) and no one so far can help a brother out :dunno .
I have a 3 stage Superchip in it already.

Thanks for your help.

i have the 4" turbo back mbrp with no cat its not to loud in the cab you can install the exhaust your self its not that hard if not any muffler shop should be able to do it and as far as the intake its not really necessary cause it moves enough air only benifit for the intake is when you get into big mods:thumbs good luck

Hey - Welcome to SDD :sweet

Airbox - at the time I would not waste the money - what you have in the stock box is an excellent system - And since you already have a chip - spend that money on at least an EGT gauge.

Exhaust - if you don't want to much cab noise - go with a 4" cat back system. Removing the cat is not going to give you any big HP gains.

You can do this yourself - it's a total bolt on system. Get a system from any of the site sponsors and you will be able to put it together without breaking a sweat. Also - since they know your truck and know diesels - you can be assured of getting the correct parts and service.

Now if you want to loose the cat - they sell a cat delete pipe. But if you can't do the exhaust yourself - then I don't advise you to remove it - it may cause problems for you if you have to dealer service.

CLS Posse,

Take a look at the MBRP or AFE systems, they have the systems built so that the factory cat bolts right in. This keeps the dealers happy, you can also get a cat test pipe so if you're off roading and racing you can bolt it in an go catless too! They are availabel in aluminzied ands stainless too.

Intake is easy AFE Pro Guard 7, you can get a replacement filter for the factory filter can, a replacement open top intake system, a Stage I or Stage II enclosed system too. 4 different options etc. Call us if you have any questions, we'll be glad to help you.
