Having my F-150's tranny rebuilt this week. Last Thursday I first noticed a problem. Didn't want to move for a few seconds at a stop light. Then the O/D Off light started flashing and it was searching for gears. Once was driving 60 mph @ 3500 rpm. Took it to Ford dealer Monday, they wanted $4200 for a new one and wouldn't even discuss overhauling the current one. Said that would be $2700 and it probably wouldn't last. Took it to an independent garage, they're rebuilding it for $2100. Was supposed to get it out today but it had an unknown noise in it, so they wouldn't let me have it until they figure out what the noise is. Hopefully it will be ready tomorrow. Am driving a 2014 Red Taurus (rental) for now, it's sure a nice car, but miss my truck.
