Seems as the 2005s are having alittle trouble feeping the black on or was this always the case with all the years. All I know is that this will be my second trip back to the dealer for it and my neibors 2005 is coming off as well. My dads 2000 is still perfect. Any tips after I get them replaced to keep the black on.

A lot of guys will hit em w/ acetone and take all the black off, therefore eliminating the possibility of it coming off partially and looking bad.

Rust-o-leum gloss black and a fine artists paintbrush are your friends. Mask with tape if you think your hands will not be steady.

And according to my dealer, it is the nature of the beast for these badges to lose the lettering. Since my truck is no longer in warranty, I just repaint the badges as needed. Thin coats and it looks good.
