There will always be poor and many simply cannot do anything about it but there are plenty who can but wont.

The middle class is going to disappear if things don't change. IMO.

This was released through the normal back door channels as a "feeler" for public reaction

Vermont, with its population just over 621,000
is looking at a new added taxation on top of existing taxes, to help fill the coffers and absorb the massive debt. This new tax is estimated to bring in 1,971,000 per person over their expected 75 year life time.
the tax will be waived until the age of 10, then at year 18 you have to pay a one time tax to cover years 11-17 at a flate rate of 3600.00 per person,
then its a standard tax each year of 2628.00. A plus to this tax, is if you apply for any public asssitance, it will be denied if you are not paid up., this included unemployment, medicare, ss, or food stamps.

this is based on the average person taking 1,314,000 breaths per year of good clean northeast air. it averages out to .002 cents per breath.
If taxes are not paid, the tax collector office will visit you with a large hefty bag, that will be zipp tied around your neck until you write a check or pass out, at which time they will do an auto debit from your checking and take the money. Second offense is one bullet to the head. :D :roflmao

ouch, good thing they have all of us a gov. contractors to pick up the slack
8hrs of work in a 9 hr period with a .5 for lunch ;) , break is over, back on your heads

but my fed gov. service was not rewarded with gold plated retirement benies.
I would gladly pay any amount of gold-platedness that they felt the need to bestow on guys like you that served in the armed forces. Your service and theirs are two very different things.

Thanks again for that, by the way. Guys like me that have never been in the armed services owe guys like you a debt that will be hard to repay. it just means we have to work all the harder to earn our usefulness.

BTW, I tried, but was rejected due to several different factors. My intent was to fly stuff, but at 18 years old, I was 6'4" and 285 pounds (mostly muscle, then... If only I could still say the same thing :( ) and they told me there wasn't a cockpit around that would fit me. I also have bad eyes, so that pretty much skewered that idea. So, I thought about some sort of engineering (combat engineer, etc) but I have hip displacia from a mild case of polio (got it from the live vaccine back in '82. The "balls" of my hip joints are shaped like footballs.) and so that ruled out any combat-oriented role, since they are capable of causing me very real problems occasionally. I could have joined the Corps of Engineers if I'd wanted to, but that isn't really military service....

Oh well, I'm getting side-tracked. If I'd really tried hard, i could have joined up, my heart wasn't really in it once they told me I wouldn't be able to fly...

Yup! And I went to state doing it, too!

I am over 300 now, to those of you keeping track. Now you know why they call me Hoss...

I did make a small mistake. At 18, I was 6'3". I'm 6'4" now.
