What would cause a fuel filter light to stay on in this cold weather ever if the filter is new and goes out for a few seconds after removing and reinstalling the filter and then starting it up again? thanks Lee

is it a fuel filter change light or the water in fuel light.... have you drained the fuel bowl?

IIRC the fuel filter light is an indicator of low fuel pressure.

you'll need to pull the heater plate to see the sensors in the fuel bowl but they could easily have junk stuck to them that is making them read false. Diesel leaking from poor sealing filters or drain cocks will eat insulation in the wiring harness leading to false lights.

Only time my light ever came on was when the filter was gelling up. What kind of fuel you running for the cold weather?
