I went to Advance Auto today to buy a new glow plug relay. The one they had (had to order) was a complete unit, solenoid switch on top of rectangular box. $168.00 In the past I have just bought the solenoid relay on top costing from $30.00 to $60.00. After looking thru several catalogs they came up with a Sorenson Switch Solenoid part no: 5594Z. Externally it looks correct but for $7.97 I am questioning the internal works. What can you tell me?

Thanks 95 Stroker
What do you think this Sorenson relay is. They had a plant here in Kentucky that made electrical parts for years. $7.97 sure looks good and tells me what the other places are making if this happens to be the right part. NAPA said that only had the GPR-110 @ $77.00 were I have seen the GPR-109 @ $22.00

Goe by the part numbers posted here (not what AutoZone or Napa lists for the truck). I like the Stancor myself. Cheers!

I would be very very leery of the Sorensen relay for 7 dollars. I myself have the Allied (Stancor look alike). The GPR 109 or 110 will suffice though.

I'm w/ 95 stroker in that I don't think the $7 relay would be advisable more than likey it's a starter relaly and wont' deal w/ the on-time duration of the GP's

I'm running the Stancor GPR in mine, been there for little over a year now and no problems.
