How would I know if all the glow plugs are working properly? Relay too?
Once the engine fires they glow plugs are all done working right? They dont effect it and how it runs when the engine is cold, right? Just effect the the initial starting?
thx

Ford actually runs them for two minutes after start-up for smoke control..
only two ways to check them..
ohm them out or pull them and energize them..

if suspect, you could jump the relay with a pair of jumper cables and see if it makes any difference...

jumping it will tell me if the relay is bad? right?
to test a glow plug I need to remove it? is this correct?
running them for 2 minutes for smoke? Would this also help it run better the first 2 minutes? In a minute or so it runs better.
thanks JL

The relay just needs to click right? is it like a starter selonoid? Can i use a test light to see if power gets to the other side? if I take the time to pull the glow pugs, i will just replace them.
