I have several post from the other site about changing from green to gold coolant and hope to do it this weekend. They recommend Zerex G0-5, but the post are about a year old.

Is this still the prefered coolant or is there something better?

I figure a good flush and fill, the soon to be installed coolant filter, and the 203* stat, she'll be ready to go for another 100,000+ miles.

Coolant wars are always fun on TDS. No one ha proven that g05 is bad for our trucks, but there are claims of "better" stuff out there.

I run g05 in my truck. 30,000 miles on it so far and no leaks.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I an having a H&!! of a time finding G05.

So, I started searching online for other coolant and found this from dieselmann's page:

2002 model year trucks use any of the above if your truck came filled with green coolant. If it came from the factory with yellow coolant, only use Motorcraft Premium Gold Antifreeze, Zerex G05 (gold bottle), Peak Global Extended Life (gold bottle) or Peak Extended Life CF-EXL (silver bottle). These coolants do not require SCA/DCA.

I think I have heard of this person before, but again, I do not remember.

The question: Are any of the above acceptable?

Heck, one place I called said that there are only two places that make coolant. Just sell it to other for their packaging.

I am so confused now and I really don't want to put the wrong stuff in a cause damage that is not there.

Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
