I installed a trans, pyro and boost gauges last year. I was talking to a friend of mine and his tranny runs around 220 all of the time, while mine only runs about 160 even while pulling a trailer. I was just wondering what the "normal" temp was for a stock e40d and the pyro temp with stock turbo and 3in downpipe.
Thanks

Do you have an aftermarket tranny cooler installed highland? Normal temps are usually about 100 degrees over ambient air temperatures, give or take a 10 degrees depending upon driving habits. Now when towing they may run more than that obviously. Normal EGT's are usually 600-700 unloaded and upto 1250 or so loaded.

Thats a tranny that will soon give up the ghost.
High temps all the time even when empty tells me the TC is probably slipping.
If he does not have an after market cooler, he might want to get one to help extend the life of that thing.
140 normal, 160-180 towing. 32,000 GVW rated stacked plate tranny cooler with the radiator still in the circuit.
