HELP!! 7.3l running rough/no power

Good chance it's the UVCH, although mine never stalled on me when when mine was loose.


What's a "UVCH"?

When I started it up Thursday morning I didn't get the usual cloud of exhaust

like I did every other morning and I noticed when going down hill, the engine

sounded like it had a Jake brake on it. I'm begining to think maybe the EBPV

is stuck shut. Am I way off on this or does it sound reasonable? Any way,

she's at the Ford garage right now and they said they'ed work on her today.

Hope this is'nt going to cost me all outdoors. :(

Under Valve Cover Harness. This harness powers the glow plugs and injectors. The connections can become loose.

Just got a call from the garage. They're looking at that uvch thing you guys were talking about. :notworthy

Garage called me back late yesterday and told me one of the retaining clips

that hold the connection on one of the injectors broke. Unfortunately, they

don't have one in stock and had to order it. Now I don't get my truck back til

Monday.:rant

...was told that the uvc harness was bad on the right side and then after that didn't work they told me that it is the ? injector pump? and was going to be around $790 and they should have it done tomorrow.

you DO NOT have an injection pump, the PSD's have HUEI injectors. the shop my be feeding you a line... that or you have an non PSD 7.3, which don;t have UVC connectors and an injection pump.

Got my truck back today. Cost me $283.51 for one stupid little clip.:rant

'Course most of that cost is for labor. Oh well, at least she's running good now.

On the plus side I got them to replace the cam sensor.;tu

Thats why I have a programer, Then I call the dealership and ask them what this code or that code means, Then if I can't fix it I send it to them. Its just cheap ins :dunno

If it was cold out that is normal-to an extent. The ebpv is designed to "shut when on cruise or coast in cold weather). It is strictly for cold weather and to increase cabin/cooant heating times. When you hard accel you should hear her give up and act normal but rest assure the is normal for cold temps.
