Ok I have a 2001 Ford F350 7.3L Diesel super crew cab long bed dually. Just got it out of the shop on friday from having exhaust leaks fixed. Things seemed fine but today when driving on the highway It started to sound a little funny than began to lose power and drop speed. Pulled over to gas station and shut her off. She started back up still sounding rough. Seems to reverse strong but have very little power in drive. Had her towed for fear of causing more damage. Help! any ideas? First diesel/ truck owned here.

Have had the following things fixed on her:

Exhaust leaks fixed/ exhaust manifold gasket replaced
fuel filter changed
valve cover gasket changed
replaced ICP
turbo housing has been replaced
oil changed
1 fuel injector tightened

ALL OUT OF IDEAS HERE.
Thanks

Check the oil level, if its over filled or low it could cause some problems.

Also check the CPS... stumbling, and ability to restart sound about right for that too.

Hope this helps and maybe someone else can help too!!!

good reverse speed and little or no forward speed could point
to trannie issues (assuming its LOW forward speed).

got any gauges ? what the egt & boost indicate ?

Check the wiring harness from your IDM to the valve covers. Also check the connectors and wiring harnesses(to glow plugs) under the valve covers. One bad connector can shut down half of the motor and leave you running on 4 cylinders.
