Ok, I got the scanner to finally read codes 0733, 0603 and 1783.

The tranny seemed to be having difficulty shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I manually shifted and worked a little better. Not great but better. At one point it would not go into reverse. Then suddenly began to work, only to find a nice big puddle of tranny fluid when I backed up. Oh, and the OD light started flashing. Any ideas?

BTW, Ive looked into the aftermarket trannys. I cant afford $3800 right now. Property taxes are taking care of that money for me.

0733 is 3rd gear slippage
0603 is KAM error
1783 is trans overtemp

I'm guessing it's trying to apply reverse and 3rd at the same time, probably a problem with the 3rd gear clutch pack...

warm that Visa card up... yer gonna need it...

oh yeah.. you can look the codes up here

According to AutoEnginuity DTC library...

P0733= gear 3 incorrect ratio

P0603= internal control module keep alive memory(KAM) error...disconnected batts will throw this

P1783= transmission overtemperature condition

I'm not an auto tranny guy but it looks like your tranny's headed south.

Well i just had the same ting also. The trans in my X wet out from to much hp add ons. I had it rebuilt by John Wood and he is one of the best that you will ever find, just ask around.It was a little more but you get all the best and the warranty is the best you will find also its 3 years 30,000. You will not get that anywhere else.http://www.jwtt.com/ I know its a bit far for a lot of you but hey i drove 260 miles and left my X there for almost a month and ill tell you what i have never be so happy with a job so well done. The guy knows all there is to know about a trans. He dose every thing you could ever need for 6.0, 7.3, trans he even puts a nice toggle switch in for the torque converter so you can lock it up when towing or going up long up hill runs.He is very hard to get a hold of but he will call you back if you leave him a name and # to get back to you. hope this helps someone .:burnit
