Funny, the fire engines at one of our local fire districts are the same color. The Air Force has dayglow green fire engines. Only one of the fire engines at the station down the street from me is red, and that pumper is over fifteen years old.

Yup! That apparatus is the same color scheme as the apparatus at the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District on the south end of the county I live in. And the red stripes are REFLECTIVE!

OTOH, my niece works as a paramedic in Gadsden, Alabama. She is a firm believer that all fire equipment should be RED!

BUT...i bet more "trucks" come outta the factory WHITE than red...
and is the RED that ford uses the "right" red for fire depts ?

its probably a matter of COST (red, option) or FINDING a red one
to convert to a fire equip truck or ambulance.

personally i dont mind my tax money going to the local fire dept
and the equip needed...but they dont NEED all the expensive do-dads
(chrome etc) to get the job done...if white is cheaper then im GLAD
they dont buy red
