What's the normal range for oil temperature? While towing 9000 lbs, oil temp can climb to 230 degrees with engine coolant around 220 degrees. Clutch fan locks up around 216-218 degrees. 2007 F250 Powerstroke with Banks Powerpack System. Have had heads and gaskets replaced (with ARP studs) for outgassing through coolant bottle. EGR replaced during same period. Oil temp seems to always be between 220 and 230 while towing. Seems kinda high to me although this could be normal. Looking for feedback. Any help is appreciated.

Coolant temps seem high. Mine is 203-205 towing 13k and don't know if I've ever heard my fan kick in. Tranny is usually 35-40 degrees cooler than engine. Sorry never looked at my oil temp while towing.

Oil temp

If you have digital info on the temps - scantool etc, check coolant temp against oil temp. If the oil temp is 25 degrees or more warmer than coolant temp, you have a plugged oil cooler.

Ford revised the "temperature difference" limit to 15 degrees (down from 25 degrees).
