How do I disconnect the EGR plug and not get a DTS code?

I have a 05 6.0 and I'd like to disconnect the EGR plug to let it run cleaner. When I do this I get a Check Engine lite. Does anyone know if I can short the plug to fool it into thinking it's pluged in? Thanks - Steve A

you have to buy a new one and plug it in. In Ca its programed to throw the code.

they ALL "throw the code"...only the california models turn
the light on...

You can always get an X Cal2 and have the EGR turned off in the puter. Keith

It is a tuner like a super chips.

I had Eric from Innovative http://ophion.site5.com/~dieselta/store/ write some custom tunes on a SCT XCal 2. It turns the EGR off in the computer. Keith
