Well guys I currently have 30% up front and the factory tint on the rear.

But it's still to light i can see inside the truck at night and I don't like that.

I'm thinking about go to 5% tint on the front and rear windows. I'm gana leave the back windshield as it is, so I can back up at night.

ya I know it's against the law, but in the state of florida you can go as dark as you want in the back, so if i see a cop I'll just roll my front windows down.

Any of you have dark tint is it hard to see at night ot is it ok. if 5% is to dark what do you recomend?

Im running 20% on the fronts and 5% on the other 3 windows.. I like it and I can still see out the front windows when its dark out and trying to back a trailer in using mirrors..

5% is still alright and you can still see out the rear at night, but I also have a bright reverse light, looking at the truck at night all the windows look blacked out

5% is too dark. I would go with 20%. It will be plenty dark but not unsafe to drive at night.

I have tint on my truck and love it. I started the stock Privacy Tint on the Rear windows which is 20% from the Factory, I then took it to a window tinting shop around here and had them put 20% on the Driver/ Passenger Windows and 5% on top of the stock in the back.

It ended up costing me $ 215.00 (- $ 50.00 if you don’t have a slider window) After all of it was done. 3M Tint LIFETIME WARRENTY, against all Fading, Peeling, Bubbling and Cracking Guaranteed @ any 3M Dealer in the United States (so don’t move to Canada.)

Backing up isn’t that bad at night, just mount some AUX Backup lights by where the hitch is if it is too hard.

Only thing that sucks is I have an AUTO Dimming Mirror, but it dims to low now and I can’t use it sometimes even during the day.

I have 20% on the front and 5% over top of the factory
20%...seeing out the back at night is not that big a deal,
it takes a little getting used to & certainly i use the hell outta
the side mirrors.

even w/out the dark tint on the rear its hard to see out back
when backing up....the factory reverse lights suck...add a
set of under bumper reverse lights and youll never have any
issue backing up (tint or otherwise).

the wider you can put the lights on the rear bumper the
happier youl be w/ the amount of light you can throw to the
sides....theres even some holes in the bumper already.

check your states tint laws...most are written/published
for cars...trucks may be different.

google results: tint laws

laws for the state of Florida:

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN FLORIDA?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Florida, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 28% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 15% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 15% of light in.

HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN FLORIDA?

Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Front Side Windows Must not be more than 25% reflective.
Back Side Windows Must not be more than 25% reflective.

OTHER FLORIDA RULES AND REGULATIONS

Restricted Colors No colors of tint are explicitly banned.
Side Mirrors Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film do NOT need to certify the film they sell in the state.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required on the inside of the driver’s side doorjamb.
Medical Exemption State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law.
