There is a filter located next to the radiator, on the right hand lower corner. This needs to be changed at the same time. It is a cartridge filter available through Ford. I think you will need 7 quarts of Mercon SP AFT. Have fun!!

So there is no practical way (without expensive equipment) to drain all of the fluid?

I was thinking more about all the fluid in the torque converter, cooler, etc.
I know dealers have a device that circulates the fluid (I think they intercept the cooler lines) and replaces old with new, theoretically changing all the fluid.
Changing the fluid in the pan only replaces less than 50% of the fluid.
I thought maybe someone had thought of a clever way of replicating what the dealers are doing.
