Hunting in MT/ND

Can anyone give me some upland bird hunting updates from MT and ND? A buddy of mine and I are heading up to Livingston, MT Oct 7th and then pushing through MT and ND until Oct 17th. We want to chase as many upland birds and waterfowl as possible. We have the maps and a few contacts, but just wondering if there is any more advice out there?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
