Well not sure what cylinder but it was in the middle so its not like it was something that I had done with my driving. The truck only had 168k on the odo. 43k of which i have put on since last july. So the motor is shot. Does anyone know of a place that I can find a descent crate motor a or good used on? I might be able to pick it up if it isnt far from iowa. it was knocking pretty good lol. but man, this sucks sooo bad.-mad -mad but:dunno can i do about it. the body is good, very minimal rust, no tears on anything. I think i just got a lemon or something. My best option would be to replace the motor. Any help would be great. Thanks guys

is it siezed or does it still run?could always have your crank cut and polished and put in a new set of rod and main bearings.or have the entire engine rebuilt.

are you sure its a bearing failure? it could have an injector that dumped and caused a hydrolock and you may be able to get away with one rod.....it could be as simple as a bent pushrod.......just thought i would throw some things out there in case it was condemed too soon, im not saying it isnt a spun bearing but that sounds awfull premature unless that motor was really maintained poory prior to you buying it........
I'd want to at least drop the pan and see about that bearing. Very unlikely that you spun a bearing at those miles. Could be an injector. Could be a bent con rod. Or a broken piston. If the motors shot, a rebuild isn't that bad. But for my money, I'd find something that got T-boned or had a cab fire. Or a rollover. If you are handy, you can save some big money. Just my .02

yea, our mechanic at work is looking for a good one at the junk yards. But yea, we just thought it was an injector because last week I thought I had gotten some bad fuel and my truck wouldn't go over 55-60. Coincidental to me just fueling up and taking off again. But then my cel was blinking meaning it was misfiring. So our mechanic took off the valve covers and what not and he thought it was just a seal or a bad injector. So we took it to diesel specialties and they dropped the pan and found out that it is the bearing. Premature yes, but such a freak incident. I bought it w/ an aftermarket exaust so i'm guess it was chipped before i got it. So who knows how well he took care of it. my trucks gets the best maintenance lol so who knows. But we'll see if i can find me a good engine cheap from a junk yard or something.
thanks for the comments guys
