IC swap

sometime ago i posted about puttinga 6.0 IC in my 7.3, well it turns out the IC i was planning on getting has the plastic ends on it, is this still a good swap?
or am i better keepin the one i have now?

all 6.0 coolers have plastic ends. There are guys running the 6.0 cooler with compound turbos and not popping the end tanks.
