Hey All,

I've got my 2008 f-250 KR that I bought down in Texas and am living up in Canada. My question is if I need to install a block heater, is it a matter of just buying the cord or do I have to buy the whole unit...

I know on my last truck it was a cummins and the heater was built in but just didn't have the cord. (Why they made it a $10 option I don't know)

For that matter, anyone know where this heater is located and if it is easy to install?

Thanks!

Mike

The engine left the factory with a heater, you'll see it just above the starter. You need to buy the cord and install it. Enter block heater into the site search engine, the instructions were just posted a couple of days ago.

heres a link that shows how to route the cord...the cord can be obtained
from the dealer...or CHEAPER "on the net" (including ebay).

this link includes photos of the heater & cord...it specifically
addresses the 6.0L but the 6.4 shouldnt be any different (since it
uses the same block).

LINK --> Block Heater Cord Location and Routing

it is possible to get a view of the heater via the passenger side
fender well.
