I have an '05 X, 6.0L and frequently when I start it, the accessories do not come on (radio, windows, etc.) then about 30 or more seconds later the radio comes on and everything is cool. It always seems to happen after it has sat over night. I can't get it to do it for the dealer, so they can't fix it. It seems to be the same relay that keeps the juice flowing after you turn off the key. Any suggestions?:dunno

Voltage

I never checked the voltage before or after for that matter. I will have to pay attention.

get yourself a plug in (cig. light outlet) voltmeter...
when the truck is OFF it reads battery voltage...when
the truck is running it reads the alternator voltage output...

Ive got the cyberdyne...and i can tell you the DIGITS are MUCH bigger
than in this photo

its not the end all diagnostic tool, but itll help tell if your batteries
are low or your alternator isnt charging...

the cyberdyne one can be found for about 35 or 40 bucks...avail. from jegs.com,
jc whitney and ebay (cyberdyne is a respectable guage mfg)

and heres one from summitracing... LINK

We just replaced our original batteries(5 years old) last month as the starter cranking was getting sluggish. Another thing was when we started the engine the XM receiver would shut off but after the new batteries went in now the XM receiver stays on.

I'll suspect the voltage drop was just enough to shut off the receiver.
