:usa Robert thanks for the post. I know that you are Retired and so am I. I may not have had 20 years but I did have almost 10. I hate to say this but with the way Congress is handling our troops I am kind of glad that I am retired. I have tons of friends and a brother-in-law in Iraq. I am proud of them everyday but I feel bad for them because of all the wrong that is happening to them. I am just at a lost for words right now over your post. Glad we are all here it give our support from a great web site.

I don't know if what I wrote mad some of ya'll :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: . If it did I am sorry for that. I want to continue by saying that I had the best time of my life in the Military, I learned alot and made alot of friends that will always be with me, and most of all I LOVED SERVING OUR COUNTRY AND SAVING AND DEFENDING THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE IN THE USA. These colors don't run and will never leave my body. :usa :usa

Sorry.. feel the need to rant.

:soap

Personally, -mad I don't believe we should have had our noses in Iraq at all in the first place. We've got more work to get done in Afghanistan, :nutkick: and North Korea.

BUT..... we're there now, and our troops deserve better than cut funding  and tied hands!!!!! They deserve the tools and money needed to do the job that was set before them, (whether or not that job should have been set before them is irrelevant now) or they should be brought home.

I'm not an isolationist, but I am just a bit more than tired of the US being the big boy on the play ground. We need to take our toys and go home for a while, then maybe the rest of the world will appreciate our billions upon billions of our tax dollars in aid that we give them every year, :bs and just maybe someone will appreciate the sacrifice our servicemen give to help someone thousands of miles away.

Anyways, off my soap box.

My biggest :thanks thanks :thanks goes out to our :hail Servicemen who have chosen to give part or all of their lives so that you and I can live FREE in this country. :usa Our servicemen, firemen, police, EMT's and teachers should be the highest paid jobs in the US.. not some of the lowest. (Ok.. well.. some of our police should be told to get off their fat asses and do something :cop about the rising crime rates in our fine cities, and then given decent raises... :GRD you know who you are :thumbs )

Done Ranting.

I agree. However with today's "instant" communication everyone knows all the bad stuff that's going on over there (too bad the liberal media won't publicize all the good stuff). If there was a way to stop all public communication from Iraq, then turn the military loose and let them do the job they need to do, this thing would be over with in a few weeks. What if we'd had the internet, multiple imbedded reporters reporting on video phones, etc. during World War II, that war would have been different and dragged on much longer than it did. The sad part is, if someone farts the wrong way, or does something "politically incorrect", then the media is all over it like stink on s*** and makes a "mountain out of a molehill". Another thing - General Petraeus was confirmed UNANIMOUSLY the the US Senate to be the new commander in Iraq. From all indications, he knows how to get things done, but now the same people who were all excited to have him over there to get a job done, now are refusing to let him do it without tying his hand. There's more on this in this article by the great US Senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman: http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2007/03/opposing_view_t_1.html

Sorry for the rant (Guess I'm acting like Hoss), just my opinion, and there's lots more where that came from regarding this situation. One final thought: Bush ought to call Her Highness Pelosi and "Dingy Harry" Reed (Rush Limbaugh's name for him) to the White House and give them a good ole Texas ***** whoopin'. Have a "come to Jesus" meeting with them and tell them just how it should be, then see how they'd react.

My feelings are that, it is very clear that:
:soap
1. The Muslims want to kill anyone that does not believe as they do, including their own people.
2. We are killing them over there and not here in the USA.
3. That is a good thing.
4. Remember 911
5. All muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims.
6. In WWII, all Germans were not SS troups, but all SS troups were Germans, and we bombed all of them until the war ended. With that effort, it only took four years.
7. If we used that same method, the war would be ended very soon, and our troops would be home safe and sound.
8. We did not learn from the lessons of Viet Nam.
9. Anytime we send our troops into a war, it should be all out, as was WWII.
10. If we are asking our young men to put their lives on the line, we need to stop this stupid strategy of limited engagement that started in Korea.
11. If they all want to go to Allah, then we should help them achieve their goal.

Just my opinion...

Pretty much all of the Middle Easterners are either
1) Terrorists
2) Terrorists in Training

That being said, i think we should have originally NUKED all of the non-compliant nations and sold the land to the Vegas casinos in order to create their own nations consisting of casinos, hotels, fun parks, theaters, mono-rail systems, oasis', parks, and any other amazing creature comforts they could conjure up...

My opinion is, the Extremists are a threat to the world-over due to their skewed religious beliefs and willingness to enact gorilla warfare where ever they are able to reach in order to further their position.

2 cents tossed,
