Is there a starter relay?

My truck made a sound when I turned the key yesterday morning like a relay buzzing, it started then. Later when I tried to start it again it would not turn over. All lights are on dash are functioning. I jumped the starter and it worked with no problem so I feel it is a fuse or relay or the ignition switch. Any ideas?

My 1999 has the starter relay high on the passenger side fender over the wheel well.

I'm not asking abouit the selonoid/relay, I'm wondering if there is one in the fuse box. My owners manual says relay #5 in the cab fuse box is not used, but that one reacts with when the key is turned. I changed the selenoid and it was still the same.(local store only had an AC delco - maybe the truck rejected it?)LOL
