not the words you want to hear when your transmission guy is rebuilding your unit.. er, TRANSMISSION..

when I dropped the truck off on Monday, he asked, "we're fixing a fluid leak, right?"

well, not only that, but I told him about the second gear engagement.
It didn't really slip or anything, but it didn't engage solidly either. It was like giving somebody a high-five and you both had big wads of creme hand cleaner on your palms.. kind of a squeet/squish feeling..

when I pick the truck up this afternoon, he says, "here.. check this out" and starts whipping steel discs onto the bench.. "this is your second gear clutch"

I was about to ask, "hey, shouldn't there be frictions in that stack, too?" and then it dawned on me.. half of them WERE frictions, they just didn't have any friction left on them

then he says "this is your reverse/high drum. Here, look down the grooves."

I hold it up, and there was a visible twist to the clutch grooves.
Wow.

I guess these 7.3's make 'enough' power....

Yeah, I know.. I forgot to take them...
I did put up pictures of the front driveshaft as I was repairing it..

BTW...
there is an error in Precision U-joints catalog...
the rear shaft takes a 239 in all positions.
