I just bought a 2004 F 350 4x4 6.0 Deisel. I am wondering if I made a mistake after viewing a lot of threads about various problems. I had an 01 Duramax and had problems with the injectors. Now it looks like the Ford has even more problems. After 1 day the water in the fuel light came on. Engine runs great. I checked the filter on the frame and it contained no water. The light is off now. I checked car fax and the vehicle is only reported to have been in the shop for reular maintanence. It has 69k on it. Please tell me not all 6.0 engines are bad!!! I have a small camper now but I am planning on buying a larger one soon. Any one out there having any good luck?? I hope!

I have a 04 and it runs fine. No problems the dealer could not fix.

I have a Super Duty pickup with the 6.0, 62 K on the odometer. The wife just bought a E-350 Super Duty with the 6.0, it has 120 K. Neither one has problems with the engine, transmission, or any major system. I drove the van from the dealer near Youngstown, Ohio to a conversion shop near NYC, then back to Florida. Absolutely ZERO problems. I bought the van with confidence having a clear CARFAX and full maintenance records (it was a fleet vehicle) I figure with 120 K the engine is just about broken in.

In other words, don't believe every thing you hear about the 6.0 engine. Like anything else man - made, they have problems. But so do Cummins and Duramax engines. It's just a matter of different problems for different manufacturers.

Enjoy your new Super Duty. Lots of folks on this forum have that 6.0 grin. :D

And welcome to SDD! ;)
