I just replaced my fuel filters and in the water seperator there was some white milky stuff in there. Was this water or could it be something else?

Andy, sounds like you changed them just in time.
The 6.0 loves new fuel filters. I change mine between
15 and 20 K miles. The way they looked the last time
I think I can go to 20k this time.

Bush,
What is paraffin?

WD40,
This time was at 20k this time. I think that I will try to do it at 15k next time.

Thank you both.

Parafin is essentially wax. That crud you found in your housing is what gives us problems in "The Cold belt". Its also why you want to use M/C fuel filters with the water media around the out side. Be sure to drain your HFCM every oil change, it will help keep the gunk to a minimum. I'm not answering for Lord Bush, just saw the question. :D

Thank you,
I used a napa filter the first time and this time used the ford filter. I will continue to use ford or international filters. I have not been draining the HFCM but will from now on.

I had a Ford Tech tell me to change the fuel filters at less than 20,000 miles,
Because He stated that is what is causing injector problems with the 6.0.
Low fuel pressure from a dirty filter is kills the injectors.I have been changing mine every 15,000 ;tu
