I got my key fobs in today from the Dealer as promised, they gave me an installation sheet on how to activate that mode to set the fob(s).. says to turn key ignition on then off 8 times, ending in ignition on within 10 seconds.

I'm not really getting anywhere, is this the correct procedure?

I browsed through the owners manual briefly, I'll look into it more later on.

seems like when you get the truck on that last IGN ON, you have to press the lock button on the remote and hold it or something like that..

Could it be that my truck never had the option for Remotel unlock and lock?

Does your truck have power windows and locks? If it's an XL with "rollup" windows and no power locks, it's not available. I'm no mechanic, but I would think there would be a way to get them to work on trucks with the power equipment group. Just my 2 cents.

I've got an XLT with power locks and windows.

That's what I was thinking, I see no reason why my truck wouldn't have a key fob feature. I'm heading to the local FORD dealer tomorrow, one guy there says he can do it.

I feel kinda dumb for having to take my truck to the dealer to get my FOBs programmed. I spent about 20 mins trying it, couldn't get it.

Well, went to a ford garage.. one of the techs couldn't get it, assumptions were correct; my truck isn't setup for the remoteless lock and unlock.

However, they quoted me 170 bucks for an install of this 'feature'. I'm not too sure about that, is it anything overly complicated? If it's just a relay or something of the such, or anything a non-master automotive electrician can do, I can handle it.
