Question keypad reset

I just bought my f250 and the dealer I bought it from didnt know the code for the keypad. I was wondering if there is any way to reset it or do I need to go to the ford dealer and have them do it? Thanks

You have to get the original code to change the code. Ford can get the code for you. I know of no way for you to get the code. Ford has it locked in the computer. You can google "unlock code reset for Ford" if you want to...

After little digging, the code is located ON the computer that runs the keypad. On my truck it is located near the emergency Brake pedal assy. It is tie-wrapped to to E-Brake assy. Good Luck.

On our, New To Us, 07 Tracker, I called the dealer, they got the VIN from thier records and called me back with the code.

You can read the code with a factory scan tool. I don't know if you can read it with an aftermarket scan tool or not. If the aftermarket tool has body function capabilities, it might. Gil
