On my old 2003 F250 I had a pro comp 6.5" with conventional shocks (instead of the useless resevoir shock garbage) it rode better than stock. I've ridden in some trucks with a leveling kit in the front and they rode like crap... it all depends on the brand, number of leafs, spring rate etc...

If you want the truck to ride good while lifted, use a suspension lift that uses a 10 leaf pack with a progressive arch for the front springs. For example, the Fabtech 5.5"(advertised as 5.5" but really 4.5" of lift), the Donahoe 4.5", Superlift Select Series 4", BDS 4", etc. Pro Comp and Rubicon Suspension use the more traditional 4 leaf pack that has a heavy arch in it which make it ride stiffer than stock.
