Ok, got a 99 F-350 with manual front locking hubs. I think they are not in the right position. Can somebody please tell me which way they would turn (top being turned forward or back) to be locked and unlocked. Right now one is forward and one in back. Thats the way I got it. Also what kind of damage would I have just caused if one is locked and the other isnt and I wasnt in 4x4? Also can I leave them locked, and just slap it in 4x4 and go??

Thanks

Turn counter clockwise to stop to unlock. Turn clockwise to stop to lock. It is the same for both sides.

I wouldn't always have them locked in when not in 4x4 as it's hard(exccesive wear) on the front drive train, but if you think you might need it that day, I won't hurt. I've been known to do this on icy days

Sweet thank you for the info!

I was wondering cause I needed to use it one time but only in the grass. I sucked getting out unlocking when I was on pavement then locking in again 3 mins later. Great info. Thank you very much!
