My 97 had 240,000 miles on it when I sold it, still see it around town. It was chipped from about 100,000 on...

My 99 had 270,000 on it when I traded it in, still going from what I hear... Leaks a little oil, but I rodded the piss out of it!!! Chipped from about 80,000 miles.

This one has 80,000 on it now, chipped from 15,000 miles. Rod the piss out of it to, and expect to take it to 200,000+ miles...

Jim,

I have purchased 2 F250 7.3, Xtended Cabs, 4x4, 6 speeds in the last year, mine a 2000 with 195,000 ($12,000 a little nicer than the 99.5) and the son's 99.5 with 240,000 ($10,500 Needs a tail gate) both are in good shape with minimal options but mechanically sound and were fleet vehicles from a small pond management business in the deep south. It's all in what your looking for, I don't need mine to make a living just to get the son and I back and forth to work and the ocassional towing of the boys toys.

Price sounds high. A year ago I bought the F-350 w/78K miles in my siggy for $23K out the door and the Ford dealer threw in a RhinoLiner, new tires, and first service free of charge. As for longevity, OASIS showed it had a fuel leak at 16K miles and has otherwise been problem free. I'm counting on it staying that way and it now has 96K miles.

Good luck.
