My twin niece's 1998 Mazda Milenia is having some problems.

When sitting still and idle it has the jerks ocasionally.

When you are going down the road, it will lunge and jerk alittle.

I am thinking that maybe it's a fuel issue, like the fuel filter may be clogged.

I do not know the last time the fuel filter was changed, since I don't service it or keep up with it.

Someone please help Uncle Bama with this one.

Bama, I hit the fuel filter first. Then get some sea-foam and pull the vac. line going to the brake booster and run about a 1/3 of a can in with the motor running and then shut the motor off for about 5 mim. The motor needs to be hot. After the 5 min start the motor up (now it will smoke really really bad but it will clear). You can dump the rest in the fuel tank it will clean the Inj. too.

Will putting the sea-foam in at the vacuum line take it into the engine??

I am illiterate when it comes to stuff like this.

Do you happen to know where the fuel filter is located on this type of car?

My 626 had it by the tank. Thinking about it the sock on the pick up tub my be pluged. You can blow it off with low air psi. just take off the gas cap so you dont pop the tank.

just read the can, it EZ.

how long has it been since last full tune-up?...it could be a spark issue too!

start with the basics...spark plugs and wires(cap and rotor if equipped)
fuel and air filter and run some injector clean through it....hope this helps

does it have individual coils, or coil over plugs? the stang was randomly chugging and it was a bad coil.

gas vehicles like that one also have a lot of issues with idle air control valves, but that shouldnt be a problem while driving down the road.

egr systems are always a PITA. might not hurt to check and clean things.

check for faults, try the seafoam, and see where it goes from there.

Also check the maf sensor, that can cause some funky running issues.
