oh i didn't say it couldn't be done, i just like to use the least amount of fittings as possible (reduce the chances of leaks) LOL just didn't know what fittings it would take to do it... your setup looks great!! what degree angle is that coming out of the head?

i'm going to try and use the port that you did because it is more accurate but the size of my sending unit might not allow that... talked to my distributor i should have it tomorrow

yep my gauges are electric autometer sport comps

here is a link, here is the gauge and sender

at idle does your gauge flutter? i have heard there are some nasty spikes using this port, especially with older strokes

Well the magic fitting is a 45 degree 1/8" male - female unit. Biggest PITA is you have to assemble your fittings one piece at a time.. now that is asking for a leak

My fuel gauge is mostly ROCK steady :D that's what happens when your darn gauge is stuffed full of glycerin. , now figuring out the fuel pressure at 50mph, that is a problem. If you were to grab one of my fuel hoses while the truck was runnin, what youd feel would be the "pulse" of a PSD :D quite violent though, I'm sure most mechnical gauges would be bouncing all over the place. My rubber hosing helps this by its ability to expand and contract slightly, unlike the OEM hard line. I'd say if your sender won't fit, just make a short pigtail of appropriate hose and then attach your sender. :dunno might be just what the doctor ordered.

well here is a pic of my gagues in the under dash pod that i haven't painted yet.. i put the sending unit next to a bottle cap so you could reference the size (i was very pleased to see how small it was!!!), it even came with a spiffy wiring harness with a moisture seal

both the oil temp and fuel pressure in the pic are electric gauges

now if my other gauge would just get here -mad

just curious CPU did you have to remove the AC compressor to get to the port on the head? i'm not sure my fat fingers with fit in there

Nope, I'm WAAAAYY to lazy to do that. You'd see while the fat isn't in the fingers, it some how found its way a little further south. :( I used a wrench on the 45 degree fitting and patience (which I have in SHORT supply. ;) )

Ford paint number is M4JZ-19M547-1077H Medium Parchment. As for the connection to the fuel filter bowl, that fitting is not a pipe thread.

do you guys use ford paint to paint pods or another brand.. ford thinks a lot of their stuff, but it is probably a better match
