The higher the CCA the more plates. The more plates the thinner they are. The thinner they are the more fragile they are. Simple battery math! I have a set of the motorcraft 850's and can start my truck just fine on the coldest days here in NJ. Back in my younger days working at NAPA we had more waranty claims on 1000cca batteries than any other. Expecially in a diesel, due to vibration.
