Starting on Dec. 29th, I will be escorting a load from Tulsa, OK to San Diego. We will probably average 60 mph on the highway. I then return alone to Tulsa to meet a truck headed to Abilene, TX. On the way back from San Diego, I will probably average 70 mph on the highway. I Know it has been done to death, but I figure 1500 miles each way will come up with descent results. Cant wait to see what my MPG figures will be like. I have never gone as slow as 60 on the interstate. BTW, my overhead is off by 1/10th and usually stays that way. That is what I will base my results off, because it's hard to figure what I have left in the 110 gal. tank.

will tell ya just what ya need to know if'n you're that interested in being precise :)

How about 66K on a 2000? I bet he gets 22-23 mpg at 60, there is only boost on grades in my truck at 60.

It was the previous owners fault, I swear! I cant keep my butt out of that truck, I bought it in June. It only had 40K on it then. I wish I could stick to the "industry average" of 15K per year, but with a Ford Superduty PSD, that just wont happen!!!

17.8 MPG

My guess is 17.8 mpg. I just drove from North Alabama to the Flint MI area and that's what I averaged. When we slowed down, it was around 20. When we really slowed down (55-60), it ran about 17.5. That's over 900 miles or so.

Your lift, tires and possibly gearing are all affecting your mileage. With the addition of larger tires, you increase wind drag and rolling resistance. The lift changed the airflow under the vehicle, thus creating drag from your undercarraige components. You gearing is making it more difficult for your engine to remain in its powerband, therefore causing you to have to dump in more fuel to maintain speed. I would say that 15 is not bad for your setup. Then again, you did remember to recalibrate your speedo, right? If not, yours may be off by 10% or more.

I get 15 on the interstate at 70mph and 13 in town. I would love to see an improvement in mine. I have a buddy with a '95 model diesel dually and 4.10 gears that see's 17-18 on the highway and 15 in town.
