In a van down by the river...
Kill the stock muffler and go with a Walker BTM (if you're sticking with the stock exhaust). If you're going with a 4" hi-po exhaust, I'd say to use the muffler since, IMO, a straight-piped PSD is annoyingly loud and the frequency of the sound coming out of the tailpipe isn't quite pleasant. With my 4" kit and the straight-through muffler, the truck sounds GOOD and has a nice deep rumble to the exhaust tone.

i agree
if yu keep the stock dump the muffler
but as for aftermarket muffs, they are pretty much straight thru and ff very little if any resistance to airflow, but block out a ton of that annoying high freq. stuff but with just enough left over to have a nice whine and throaty rumble

I've just got stock exhaust and planning on staying with it... don't plan to add a whole lot of power.

BUT.... dumped that muffler... sound is INCREDIBLE.:thumbs :sweet

Lose the muffler.:cowboy:
