My rant: Ford vs GM

Just thought I'd rant a lil. Gm guys sure think their sh$% doesnt stink. Happened today. I was in our dealership parking lot workin on my truck. Checkin EBPV pipe and sensor, makin sure it wasnt plugged up. And who pulls up? A friend of ours that is a diehard gm guy. Im a diehard Ford guy like the rest of our entire family. And since he is dating our cousin, he never stands a chance with us but still gives his two cents. "Well isnt that a normal sight?!" he says. We get into it as usual. Says his duras$%t will beat my ole 99 7.3. And it will! I aint denying that. They run great stock and when you add thousands to it, it will def. Hes got tons of banks stuff on it like a 6 gun i believe and other stuff. He keeps goin sayin 1/4 mile time his will smoke mine blah blah blah. I keep rubbin it in his face bout him blowin 2 front ends and one rear end so far in his truck hehe. Mine will just keep on runnin forever and ever haha. Keep on talkin, you will be replacing yer truck soon and I will be the one yankin yers home.

^agreed! You got two kinds of people when it comes to cars/trucks usually. Atleast this is the way I see it. You got the guy that drive the crap out of their vehicles, want to race all the time and have the most powerful truck on the planet. Then you got the guys that use their truck for work, wants mpg and reliability. I do fit in both these catergories. My truck is mainly my work truck, daily driver. I want mpg and reliability. Thats why I bought my 7.3. I do like to go fast and I think my truck is fast. I will get some more mods for mine but mainly for mpg and towing. I dont run the crap out of my truck but do occassionally hammer it down at the stop lights. If i want to go fast I will just hop in my modded 96 cobra and go fast. Thats what its built for. Theres a reason why Ford has the best truck for 33yrs and still counting.

My inlaws are all Gov't Motor fans. With me being the only Ford guy. If you want a real truck, you buy a Ford. I feel your pain!

Thanks Majek. When I think of a motor company, i think more in the lines of quality of their stuff, and how they handle business. Obviously gm and chrysler couldnt do that. Ford was hurtin also but was in way better shape. I dont just think of the hp and torque numbers, i think bigger. Thats why we have been with Ford for generations. I got it tatooed on my body for cryin outloud haha.

I USED to be a chevy guy. I still like their muscle cars, well I like all muscle cars really. I had a couple of Tahoes a while back and had to put transmissions in both. I needed a REAL truck to tow for work and the Tahoes just were not up to it. I was lucky that a buddy of mine was getting a couple of new F450s and said he would sell me his F250 for $7000. I cut him a check that day and never looked back. I have 424,000 miles on the old girl now and she still runs great. I bet there are not many duracraps with that mileage that aren't fallin apart. I will never buy a GM product that was built after 1980 ever again! I love my FORD!!!

I see more gm guys turning to Ford rather than vice versa. Im more interested in the truck vs truck rather than car vs car since trucks is what keeps this country moving. I do like the Ford vs gm when it comes to cars though. Thats always a heated debate and theres so much more you can do to a car to make it go faster. Every little thing counts like weight and all that stuff. Trucks are just such a big part of our lives that they are a part of us. Its like defending an old friend. hehe. Dont get me wrong, Mustang vs Camaro is always a good one and Mustang has put the Camaro out to pasture once, time to do it again hehe.

I was a Die Hard Chevy Guy and still like the Old Muscle Cars, I do not like the New Stuff except for the Trucks and Corvettes. I did have a 07 Duramax and had no issues with it but did not like the Cloth on the Interior, was a Pain to keep clean, I also had a Dodge/Cummins Diesel and that was a Good Truck also, I just picked up a 08 F450 Lariat Dually Diesel and I Love this Truck, I have not had it long enough yet to know about it but She is Awesome I can say that much! I learned that no matter what you Drive you still have to maintain it and keep it up!
