I may be looking for a transfer case. Can someone explain the rotation and model numbers.
I have a model 271-f with a rotation 272.
What does it mean. What must the new one have have to work? do both model numbers and rotation have to match? I know the diff gearing must match but how exact a match must the transfer case be?
thx

I have never heard of a Rotation Number. I googled "rotation number" and got nothing back, so I am saying that you don't need to worry about the rotation numbers. It maybe the casting number on the side of a cast housing. This just tells the maker what lot of castings yours came from. They do not have to match anything. Good Luck, again.
