I recently bought a 2008 F-250 with 198K miles, got a smoking good deal just making sure i cover all my bases on this truck so she lasts and I get the most out of the motor and tranny before I start upgrading.

Don't know what a smoking deal would be on a truck with 198 on it, that's a lot of miles on a 08.
Not knowing the history of the truck, the first thing I would do is change all the fluids, oils and filters.
