Just installed some new tires on the truck. Toyo Open Country AT II. Found the size I've been waiting for. 285/75-18 I have wanted a taller narrow tire for snow but heavy load rating good enough for towing. Balanced up real good with 2 taking 3 oz 1 taking .25 and 1 no weight. They measured at 34.5 inches. My stock tires just about were about 33 inches when new.IMG_20141219_171612384_HDR.jpgIMG_20141219_171631822.jpg

I just got a set of those four days ago in the exact same size on my new 2015. I put a set of 315's on my 1996 last spring and like them so well I had to have them on the new ride. You will love them.

Out of curiosity what did the 285/75R18 run down there in America? Ran me $1700 mounted/balanced plus $60 to sipe here in Alaska.

I just put 6 Toyo Open Country AT II LT245/75R17/E on my truck and paid $210.00 each for them, mounted and bal.
So far I think I am going to like them.

How deep is the siping. I know it helps traction on slippery roads but how would it hold up to towing most of the time. In the summer thats what my truck is doing 3/4 of its miles. Just wondering if would want to tear little bits off tires.

Sipes go down about 2/3 of the tread depth. Have never had any chunking on pickup tires. Only chunking I have had is on truck tires pulling 112,000 on haul road(mud, dirt, gravel, ext)during the summer.
