removal to repair timing cover.

Primed HPOP, cracked both lines at the heads while spinning over, as well as have fuel spewing from schrader valve on fuel reg :dunno

Have plenty of cranking speed....with a Dodge {Kuminz} for backup battery power...2 sets jumper cables- 1 to each battery. Sounds like a six.oh when it spins over:confused:


Verified and re-verifed and re-re-verified all connections ---were cleaned w/ contact cleaner and coated with dilectric grease-- along with all maxi fues including #22.

CPS was replaced Christmas eve and tach is moving.

Tried to start from about 2 pm till dark 9:30 ish....I'm at the wall here:confused:

go over the wireing again and make sure every plug is in its home.check the bolt on the HPOP gear and make sure that sucker is tight.

That's the odd thing....not even a whiff:confused:

I marked the steel chassis to braided eng fuel lines before disconnecting them so the direction is right, plus the fact I have a steady stream of fuel spewing from the schrader.......

Some of this could possibly be acceptable if I drained the heads of all fuel and oil , as with inj removal etc.....but all I did was remove the hpop to remove the timing cover:dunno

wiring IS home and correct....gonna look at that HPOP drive bolt.....gave her 60 lbs torque....should there be more?..........

Stealth Pump instructions told me 95ft/lbs on the HPOP gear bolt.


No smoke?:confused: :dunno

:eek: :doh:.....mebee then the pump shaft is spinning against the gear....hhmmmmm :thanks

Well the drive bolt was tight and I took it up to 95 ft/lbs.....still no go and this is after checking all related power distribution relays and fuses.....

#8- 30 amp maxi IDM

#9-20 amp maxi powertrain control

#17-50 amp maxi idle pos switch

#22- 30 amp maxi glow plug controller/ fuel line heater


relay #1- powertrain control

relay #2- IDM


and every other stinkin' fuse,relay and circut breaker on the truck......

Is anyone interested in talking in real time?
There is nobody out here that I can talk in depth regarding this problem:(

actually just for the hell of it check your IPR wires and connector.make sure it is plugged in and make sure the nut didnt come loose or fall off while you were mesing with the HPOP
