Has anyone here taken out a set of 4.10s from the 05+ 250/350 that they are willing to sell? I have 3.73s and absolutely hate towing the 5er with them.

I bet you do with 3.73's on 20 in tires, wow. Your working the crap out of your truck,
good luck on finding some. If your staying with those tires you might like a set of 4.30's

The upshot - probably not going to have problems with the EGR coking up.

Coolant temps staying within range?

I have 35in tires my stock tire was a metric 33.1 per the door sticker. So it's not that much different than stock. Yes my coolant temps do stay within spec
I just want to be able to use overdrive when towing the big trailer. When loaded we're rolling at almost 22k and there is no such thing as a flat straight road here in the NW. I thought about 4.30s but it gets driven for other things on the weekends when it's not towing and that's just too low of a gearset but if I find a set of takeouts or someone with 4.30s that wants a trade I'll be all over that.

An axle swap would be easier....new gears would be more work but cost the same.

Not when that's what you do in your spare time. ;tu Working on a Jeep now then a 99 superduty going from 4.56s to 3.73s and more than likely a dodge wanting to drop from 4.10s down to 3.73s or lower. Unfortunately the dodge gears don't interchange and the 4.56s are just too low for me and I'd still have to get a different front set anyways.
