Oil Anti-Scuff Compounds

A friend of mine was saying that the oil we are buying will soon not have the same anti-scuff compounds in it and that the new compounds, that are more catalytic converter friendly, are not as effective.

He was advising me to use power service's oil addative.

Have any of you heard this same thing?

I would do some research on this one and until you find out hard evidence, use the oil recommended in your owners manual and FYI.... PSD's do not like oil additives at all.
