Oil question

I was going to change my oil type from a Cenex brand synthetic blend to Amsoil and was wondering if I could use the case of oil I have left, a 15w-40 DEO in a gas engine.

shouldnt hurt anything it does meet current gas requirements as well as good old real engines

my cousin runs rotella 15w-40 in his '85 GAS ranger w/ almost 200,000 miles on it. if he doesnt he doesnt have oil pressure. so go for it
