I'm planning on getting two new batteries for the PSD before the cold weather sets in because I think the current batteries may be at least 4-5 yrs. old.

Has anyone put these batteries in their vehicle and since they are more expensive are they worth the money?

Yes they're more exspencive but IMO WELL worth the extra money.

I have 2 850's (Yellow tops) that have been in my truck for 2+ years. Not one problem. I like the NO Mess, No Crap build up on the posts, No acid level to check and the like.

I also have 2 Deep Cycle 750's (Blue Tops) in my FW. 3+ years, no problems.

I've been using Costco Batteries in all my vehicles for many years. No problems so far (knock, knock, knock) As a matter of fact I just put 2 Costco batteries in my Ex. this past weekend. First set after stock for this vehicle.

Couldn't agree with you more, Big Joe!

Those Optima Yellow Tops are indeed beautiful things.........had 2 of 'em myself until I opted for the Odysseys! :D You simply can't go wrong with these batteries for our trucks! :sweet

Had a red top in my old bronco for about 4 years went through 3 alternators and alot of discharges and never had a problem heck I think its still in the truck. To me money well spent:thumbs Im trying to decide on red tops or yellows when I need new ones.

I've got a red optima in both my Toyota and Nissan. When it's time to replace the batteries in my PSD or my wife's car, red optima will replace them.

Sometimes Advance Auto or Autozone will have reds on sale for $99. Make sure to get the one with both the posts and the side terminals.

My stock batteries lasted 3 1/2 years until they went the way of the old west. I think 4-5 years may be way optomistic.

Thanks for all the info--looks like Optima it will be. I'll have to check out the local Auto Zone around here to see if they're gonna have a sale anytime soon.

I believe red tops are the ones you want. I have been told by a few people that many of the yellows do not last. Personally I use Interstate batteries and they have been more then reliable.

Cheers
Jeff
