Just a Newbie question here.
I've got a 2006 PSD and as I'm unfamiliar with the low fuel warning and how much I can trust it, I've been playing with my mileage. For example, I let it run down to 3/4 of a tank, fill up see how many gallons that takes, then do the same with 1/2 tank, 1/4 tank, etc. However, I've never had it warn me that I was low on fuel.
The question is how hard is it to restart one of these if it runs completely out of fuel? Other diesels that I'm familiar with were a genuine pain and you needed at least two booster cars to jump start them. Basically, you had to refill all of the fuel rails and stuff. However, those didn't have electric pumps in the tank. Anyone ever run one completely dry? I'm almost afraid to push down to that 1/8 tank based on the numbers that I've been putting in at 1/4 tank.
Thanks
Richard
