Does anyone here have a custom toolbox or storage bin recessed into an outside rear panel? If so, I'd really appreciate seeing what it looks like and/or hearing how it was done.
I have an F350 longbed that was a dually until I took off the rear fenders and put on a new set of rims. Behind the driver's side rear fender, the 2 gas fill necks were previously lengthened and the inner fender had 2 large holes cut in it for them to reach through.
Now that it's going back to SRW form, I need to do something about that panel, and I had the idea of maybe cutting out the entire area between the two fill necks, ans fitting a piece of diamondplate on their with a lock and hinges. This way my fill necks would be locked up, and I could probably fab some little cubby holes in there to store small hand tools or etc.
So like I said, I'd love to see what anyone might have done along these lines to their own truck.
